About Inns Division

Steeped in history, character and charm our group of high quality Inns offer our customers a welcome retreat in some of the most beautiful historic towns, villages and countryside of England.

With an emphasis on quality service, delicious food, relaxing and comfortable accommodation and in some venues excellent meetings and events facilities our Inns offer the perfect location for business or pleasure. From Greene King cask conditioned ales, fine wines and a selection of premium beers and lagers to the wonderful choice of freshly prepared dishes, light bar snacks and our restaurant's Wayside menu our Inns provide a great attraction not only for our customers but for our managers as well.

Our current estate of 130+ Inns and Hotels already average sales of £18,000 per week, with 70% generated by food. We are constantly restoring many of our hotels to their former historic glory through an investment programme & we are looking for high caliber managers with the flair and enthusiasm to really drive sales and bring our development programme to life. Alongside Inns sits Hardys and Hansons. These are high volume branded food businesses with a focus on great value and great service. But while they're all very different there are certain qualities they all share. A warm and welcoming atmosphere. Good quality, traditional food. And of course, first class customer service. We pride ourselves on being "anything but ordinary!"

What you need to know

  • Destination character hotels & inns and Wayside pubs.
  • Primarily a food-led businesses. And while all offer fine dining, some also offer accommodation and conference & banqueting facilities.
  • Average weekly sales £15K.
  • Split 60/40 in favour of food.
  • Accommodation ranging from £2K to £12K per week.

What we look for in our managers

  • The ability to attract the local market into the restaurant and bar.
  • For those offering accommodation, the ability to attract the rest of the world into your rooms.
  • A strong track record of managing a Hotel or Coaching Inn (minimum 10 bedrooms - maximum 70).
    Experience of conferences and functions would also be an advantage.
  • Ability to support & develop your team.
