Steve and Lisa's wholehearted commitment to supporting their area, as well as the high standard of training in their own house, really impressed this year's judges. All Steve and Lisa's team at the Manor Hotel have reached certificate two level and both of their assistant managers were trained through the Springboard programme. One is now working towards his Diploma One award. Steve and Lisa are also heavily involved in area training; organising IT courses, managerial inductions, workshops and wedding training. Steve is the mentor for 'Shaping the Future' trainers in Area 30 and provides one-to-one training to other houses in this area.
From their entry and the commendation provided by their BDM, the judging panel really feels that Steve and Lisa are managers who go above and beyond the call of duty to help other managers and their teams, both in their area and at divisional level. They were impressed by how much nearby houses have also benefited from their dedication, with area performance well over target and customer service greatly improved.
