While we've tried to include everything you need to know about working for us in this site, there may be a couple of niggling questions you have. We've probably answered them elsewhere, but to save you some time, here we've listed all the questions we're most frequently asked. And more importantly their answers.

How do I become a Greene King Retail Manager?

Depending on your experience, there are various ways you can become a Greene King Retail Manager. Find out what we generally look for when recruiting at the following levels by following the links to pages in the site where there's specific information:

All other positions are recruited at a local level and candidates will need to contact their local Greene King pubs, hotel or restaurant direct to find out about any vacancies.

Will people with previous convictions be considered?

Yes, subject to the applicant being able to hold a Personal Licence.

We undertake comprehensive reference checks on all applicants who are offered employment with the company.

Can couples apply as joint managers?

Yes.

How do I find out which locations or areas have vacancies?

We ask you to apply for a division that you feel your experience, ambitions and requirements are best suited for. You will also be asked in the application process to state if there are any areas of the country that you are most interested in working in. If you are successful in your application, we'll then discuss with you all current opportunities that we feel match your skills, experience and requirements and if there isn't anything immediately available then we will keep you informed as we wait for one to arise.

What is the salary for a Retail Manager?

Salaries are negotiated between Greene King's Business Development Managers (BDMs) and individual Retail Managers, and take into account factors such as the nature of the pub business and the complexity of its operation.

In addition to this, the company offers the opportunity for you to earn significant bonus payments over and above your basic of up to 100% of your salary, dependent on your business achieving required targets.

Do I need to hold a Personal Licence to become a Retail Manager?

Yes, if you are applying to go directly into Retail Management you will need to have, or be in the process of applying for, your Personal Licence.

Those applying for Retail Assistant Manager positions will have more time to apply for their Personal Licence.
